Pastor John Writes:
Holy Week Update
Holy Week begins this month on Palm Sunday, March 28. Once again, we’ll have evening Holy Week readings at 7:00 pm, with a band prelude beginning around 6:30 pm. These services will be each night from Palm Sunday through Good Friday, April 2.
Our Holy Week Schedule:
Palm Sunday Lovefeast: March 28
Reading Services: Monday, March 29 – Wednesday, March 31
Maundy Thursday Communion: April 1
Good Friday Tenebrae Service: April 2
All of our Holy Week and Easter services will be livestreamed again this year. While our sanctuary will be “open” this year during Holy Week, we will continue our sanctuary safety guidelines during these services. Remember that masks are required at all times while in the church building, and we ask those attending reading services to maintain a six-foot distance from those who are from a different household.
Our Palm Sunday lovefeast will be another “to-go” lovefeast, with buns available as worshippers exit the sanctuary. Our Maundy Thursday communion service will maintain the same precautions as our recent communion services, with pre-packaged communion kits available in the sanctuary. Worshippers may also bring their own elements for communion.
We will celebrate Easter Sunday, April 4, with an outdoor worship service at 10:30 am on the graveyard. Bring a lawn chair, and come prepared to worship outdoors.
However this season finds you, I pray that God will draw us closer throughout Lent, and renew us in our faith, hope, and love during Holy Week and Easter. The Lord is risen, indeed!
Peace to you during Lent, and always,
The Rev. John G. Rights
